Städtische Galerie Dresden – Kunstsammlung

Nur wenige Meter von der Dresdner Frauenkirche entfernt befindet sich im Landhaus die Städtische Galerie Dresden.

Das Kunstmuseum der Stadt versteht sich als ein Forum für die Kunst in der Region. Die städtische Kunstsammlung umfasst rund 1.900 Gemälde, 800 plastische Arbeiten und 20.000 Arbeiten auf Papier. Die frühesten Werke stammen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, der Schwerpunkt liegt jedoch im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert sowie in der Gegenwartskunst.

The Municipal Gallery and Art Collection in the Landhaus is the Art Museum of the City. Founded in 2002, it sees itself as a forum for art in the region. The collection contains approximately 1,700 paintings, 800 sculptures works, and more than 20,000 graphicworks. The earliest works date from the 16th century although the main focus of the holdings concentrates on the 19th and 20th centuries. The Gallery regularly presents special exhibits.
